Falling In Reverse Get Good

Falling In Reverse released their debut album The Drug in Me Is You in 2011. While those of you who read this blog know my feelings on that album, I'll make it short. There was only one good song ("Goodbye Graceful") and the rest were shitty and sing songy messes with self-centered lyrics and a similar sound to the entire disc.
Then in May the band announced their sophomore album Fashionably Late. It was preceded by the single "Alone" which at first I didn't like. The single grew on me and the second single and title track blew me away.
The album, out last month is far from perfect but it is a thousand times better than their debut. From the electro/rap/rock/metal of "Alone" to the catchy and heavy "Rolling Stone," the album is fun and catchy. Whether channeling Andrew W.K. ("Fuck The Rest") or Katy Perry ("Bad Girls Club") frontman Ronnie Radke can do it all. He gets heavy on tracks like "Champion" and "Self-Destruct Personality," Radke steps outside the box a lot on this record. From the hip-hop inspired "It's Over When It's Over" to the video game sampling "Game Over" Radke and co. have really stepped up their game.
The album's best song is the poppy "Bad Girls Club" which sounds is part Katy Perry, party Avril Lavigne and part amazing. The song has heavy synths and a cheerleader breakdown. This song could get the band a huge hit. Radke even uses the song to speak out about his legal troubles.
"She called the cops and made it seem like I was mean/ She's not your average lady, She is fucking crazy/ Spelled C U N T," Radke sings before the chorus.
The album ends on a bad note however. The closing ballads are wishy washy. The piano-filled soft rock "Keep Holding On" and the country inspired "Drifter" are stupid. However the rest of the album is actually good. This album shows that Radke has come a long way after parting ways with Escape The Fate. This album may not be the best album of the year, but it is the album that shows the most improvement and straight up balls.

Escape The Fate Regain Their Aggression On New Album

It's impossible to talk about Escape The Fate and not bring up their sordid past when it comes to band members. Two years ago former frontman Ronnie Radke's new band Falling In Reverse released an album in which Radke's lyrics took aim at his replacement Craig Mabbitt. It's safe to assume that the bulk of the songs are aimed back at Radke on Escape The Fate's fourth record Ungrateful. The first single and title track is supposedly about bullying but it seems to be a dig at Radke and his new band.
Another song that seems to be aimed at  Radke is "Fire it Up." "Fire it, fire it up/ This is our last dance/ With middle fingers up we'll dance on your, dance on your fucking grave," Mabbitt sings during the chorus.
These songs are much better than anything that Radke could come up with and much more aggressive. The music mixes in metalcore with hard rock and straight up metal.
Highlights on the album include "Until We Die" an aggressive rocker and "Live Fast, Die Beautiful," which is about a young starlet in the making. The topic is cliché but it still works.
Second single "You're Insane" is a fun rocker that's full of energy. "I'm not the reason that you're insane," Mabbitt screams during the chorus.
The album has a few low points, "Chemical Love" is a gothic rocker about a drug addicted romance and "Picture Perfect" has good intentions but never really gets anywhere. The song, co-written by Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump is about the loss of a loved one and how it showed Mabbitt how to live his life and what's truly important.
The album picks up for the rest of the album after these two bumps. "Risk it All" is about living live to the fullest and it's fitting that his song comes after "Picture Perfect." Desire" is a rocker which is about, just that. "One for the Money" is a fun party song that sounds like a better version of Papa Roach.
Ungrateful is by far one of their best albums, if not the best thing this band have ever released. Hopefully they keep on this path and keep making great music.

Falling In Reverse Get Weird On New Single

Falling In Reverse have been quietly recording the follow-up to their 2011 overrated debut album The Drug in Me Is You. The album was catchy and had one song that was actually good but the rest were filled with clichéd lyrics and annoying sing-songy melodies. The album's metalcore moments were great but the rest was cheesy hard rock mixed with pop-punk.
The lyrics of the album also had a very cocky, douchebag tone. "That's why they call me king of the music scene," singer Ronnie Radke sings on one song. The album was predominantly about Radke's "bad boy" ways and how he was "kicked out" of his previous band Escape The Fate. Everybody reading this knows the story of Radke and his legal troubles after leaving Escape The Fate after their debut album Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. In addition to troubles with his old band, Radke has also had beef with I See Stars in a very public battle. He even kicked fans of the band out of his concert tour in which they were supposed to open for.
Yesterday Falling In Reverse announced their new album and released their first single "Alone." The single features a dance beat and rapped vocals during the verses from Radke. The rapped verses feature some breakdowns and there are some harsh vocals and even a clean vocal chorus that is by far the best part of the song. There is also some Auto-Tune in the middle of the track. While the song is stupid, it isn't the worst thing they've done. Also, the song is catchy and as much as I've tried to I don't hate it.
The raps and verses are the main problem. Radke basically pats himself on the back the whole song. He raps about being rich. While he must have some cash, Ronnie Radke isn't so popular that he is rich. Nene Leakes you are not Mr. Radke.
"Fuck you bitches I'm a business/ I'll be kissing on your Mrs./ What you spend in 15 months is what I spend in 15 minutes," Radke raps during the second verse.
In the verses Radke is being a douchebag but in the verses he tries to be vulnerable. "Oh this is the end of everything that I've known/ No way of knowing if I'll ever be home/ And I don't ever wanna be alone," Radke sings during the chorus.
Continently this single was released a day after Radke's former band Escape The Fate streamed their fourth record Ungrateful, due out next week. It seems as though Radke and co. are trying to steal the spotlight away. While the single isn't as bad as it could have been, it's going to take a lot more than this to steal the light away from Escape The Fate and their new, great album. Fashionably Late, the second studio album by Falling In Reverse will be out June 18 on Epitaph.

Escape The Fate release first single off of new album

Escape the Fate released a sneak peak of their new single last year, This week they finally released their new single "Ungrateful." The song is a heavy offering with a catchy chorus. While Escape the Fate have never been the heaviest band, this song is breaking the mold they usually fit in.
The song features angry lyrics that are sure to spark controversy. They are clearly aimed at former frontman Ronnie Radke. His new band Falling in Reverse has lyrics that are usually aimed at Craig Mabbitt who took his place fronting Escape the Fate. "No one hears a fucking word you say," Mabbitt screams at his adversary. It's time somebody shut Radke up.
This song is a nice new sound for the band. Their new album also titled Ungrateful will be released  on May 14. The album is set to feature vocals from former Attack Attack! singer Caleb Shomo and Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump. Another single is expected to be released before the album's release.

Ronnie Radke got arrested.

Hero of many a pathetic teenage girl and Falling In Reverse frontman has been arrested on charges of domestic battery. His girlfriend told police that he allegedly beat her. The warrant for his arrest was issued on May 1, 2012 but because of his band's run on the Vans Warped Tour, Radke wasn't arrested until August 6, the day after Warped Tour ended.
Radke was the original lead vocalist for Escape The Fate but when he got convicted for his role in the death of a fan. His band then replaced him with Craig Mabbitt who was in blessthefall at the time while he was in prison and then he started Falling In Reverse. The band sing a lame mix of pop-punk, hardcore and hard rock, yet they've managed to gain a huge amount of popularity with their debut album The Drug In Me Is You. The record is full of annoying sing songy tunes about being betrayed by his former bandmates.
While the band aren't untalented and some of their songs do have good moments, they just try to hard. They have one song, "Goodbye Graceful" that is simply amazing. It's the heaviest song on which Ronnie employs his harsh vocals during most of the song while he sings the chorus. If Falling In Reverse made more songs like this, they wouldn't suck.
The only reason people like this band is because of the hype surrounding Radke and his legal woes of the past. If he wasn't "that guy who used to be in Escape The Fate who killed somebody and wrote Falling In Reverse's album in prison," half the people who "love" him and his band wouldn't care. They're nothing special.
But this isn't meant to be a rant on how much the band aren't good, it's an opinion piece of Radke and other musicians who face hard times. While some musicians with talent ruin their careers by overdosing and dying (Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston) or being bat shit crazy (Courtney Love), many musicians can get past the embarrassment.
Chris Brown was promising young R&B singer with a good voice when he turned himself in after the beating of his girlfriend at the time Rihanna. While many viewed Brown's career as over he has had several hit singles since then and despite public feuds with P!nk and Miranda Lambert regarding his domestic battery charges Rihanna collaborated with him on the remix to her single "Birthday Cake" and his song "Turn Up The Music." While he has lost the love and respect of many fans, he still has a successful music career.
Another, older example is R&B singer R. Kelly. In 2002 a video tape of Kelly urinating on and having sex with an allegedly underage girl surfaced on the internet. The singer was charged with child pornography, soliciting a minor for child pornography and sex with a minor. Despite the fact that charges were dropped and he was found not guilty for the rest this was still a damaging thing for Kelly. Yet the next year Kelly released an album that featured one of his biggest hits ever "Ignition (Remix)." Despite not having that many more hits after Kelly continues to release albums to moderate success.
Radke can save his career if he comes across as a victim which I'm sure is the direction he'll take. Radke and his overrated band have lots of fans who probably feel terrible for their underdog and they'll probably blame his girlfriend and make her a martyr amongst terrible scene kids across the nation. But my question is, is that okay?
